A Bit About Me
Hello! Glad you could stop by my site and want to learn a little bit more about me. While some may say my journey in Parks and Recreation didn't start until my time at the University of Illinois, I believe it started when I was in Kindergarten participating in Schaumburg Park District soccer. Now I have the gift of being able to facilitate the very experiences that so strongly shaped my life and played a powerful role in developing me into who I am today, for others. Through my experiences as a Special Events Supervisor at Salt Creek Rural Park District as a Special Events Supervisor and my time at Clarendon Hills Park District as a Community Center and Recreation Supervisor, I have had the wonderful opportunities to experience some of the diverse opportunities this field offers. Combined with my unique experience working in the Tech sector, and my personal love for innovation and technology, I bring a very unique perspective and outlook to this field and hope you get to see some of that through this website.

Effectively managed member services, software systems, and website maintenance for the Illinois Park & Recreation Association. I led a critical transition to a new Association Management Software and spearheaded the launch of a Learning Management Software project, enhancing operational efficiency and member engagement significantly. My responsibilities include overseeing the recruitment, retention, and renewal processes, increasing member satisfaction and participation across programs. As the technology lead, I ensure the integration and functionality of all systems and applications, supporting both staff and members extensively. Additionally, I have developed and maintained productive relationships with affiliate organizations and managed the IPRA Awards & Recognition Program, further enriching member value and community impact.
Oversaw the hiring, training, and evaluation of nearly 50 part-time staff and volunteers annually, and managed diverse athletic programs, including six travel and multiple in-house softball and basketball teams. This role involved spearheading marketing initiatives, significantly increasing program participation; notably, tennis participation rose by over 25%, and the Lady Devils Softball Program grew by 70%. I also coordinated the widely publicized “You’ve Been Elfed” event and other special events, contributing to a near 30% increase in camp attendance. My contributions extended to enhancing facility offerings, including the introduction of new clubs and assisting in pool operations.
Successfully designed and executed a wide array of events, such as beer & wine tastings, holiday festivals, and craft fairs, which increased event participation by over 25%. I played a key role in soliciting sponsorships and managing marketing initiatives, including the creation of promotional materials and digital content updates. Additionally, I oversaw the fitness program, managing over six part-time instructors and expanding the class roster, which together with the introduction of fitness punch passes, grew class participation rates by 11%. My contributions also extended to assisting with golf course operations, demonstrating my versatility and commitment to enhancing community recreation services.
Expertly maintained, analyzed, and repaired computer systems and hardware. I revamped the PC lease return process, enhancing efficiency by 34%, and formulated a new backfill order process, cutting down on missed orders and abandoned builds by 72%. Skilled in managing documentation, system upgrades, and user account information, I ensure high standards of rights, security, and system group integrity. My deep understanding of cybersecurity and data management optimally positions me to boost IT infrastructure in park and recreation environments.
